Chair of B20 Indonesia Shinta W. Kamdani and Arsjad Rasjid as the Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a meeting with the Vice President of European Investment Bank Kris Peeters to discuss what role the European Investment Bank can play in sustainable and innovative investment.
As the European Investment Bank commits to allocate 50% of its investment portfolio to sustainable developments by 2025, B20 Indonesia is hoping for stronger collaboration in the areas of notable work encompassing renewable energy, transport, including urban transport and waterways, lower carbon and efficient energy generation, forestry, waste and water management as well as low carbon technologies.
B20 Indonesia prioritized energy transition and pushed for various initiatives, including legacy programs, such as the establishment of a carbon trading center of excellence.
“Despite the fact that there are several obstacles to the energy transition, including access to clean energy, funding, and technology support, we must form more collaborations to facilitate access to affordable energy services, create technological innovations, and fund breakthroughs by formulating a consistent and long-term strategy,” said Shinta W. Kamdani.
This meeting was held with the support of PT Astra International Tbk, PT Bayan Resources Tbk, PT Indika Energy Tbk and Sinar Mas.
