FINANCE & INFRASTRUCTURE

As the pace of disruption and innovation accelerates, the B20 Finance and Infrastructure Taskforce  seeks to facilitate the conversation on how to adapt existing finance and infrastructure frameworks for more inclusive growth.

Topics include not only traditional physical infrastructure, but also digital and social infrastructure, and related financing mechanisms. For example, the Global Health Security Index, a project between the Nuclear Threat Initiative and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security developed together with the Economist Intelligence Unit, ranks global health security infrastructure preparedness at 40.2 out of a possible 100.

Similarly, there is a need to rethink green infrastructure financing and associated market mechanisms. Carbon credit markets and other types of green infrastructure require government support and buy-in from the business community in order to achieve scale and impact.

How do we accomplish this? What are the best incentives to structure such solutions for positive overall impact? We invite you to join the discussion on how we can best move forward on these issues.
